Alanna St. Laurent is a full-time photographer and "urban archaeologist" specializing in Detroit fine art architecture, urban and abandonment photography. Her purpose in photographing Detroit, not only its abandonment but also its historical buildings, is to document the current state of the city and to bring awareness to the fact that Detroit is not down and out but is slowly making a comeback.
Most of her images are processed using a technique called High Dynamic Range (HDR). She also owns a photography workshop company - Alanna St Laurent Photography Workshops and Tours, which got off the ground in late 2013.
